Using Comprehensible English

This training aims to help educators support English as EAL learners through four key objectives:

• Understand EAL Challenges: Identify common comprehension barriers for new and early-stage learners to make spoken and written English more accessible.

• Deliver Clear Instructions: Master practical, easy-to-implement techniques for giving instructions and checking student understanding inside and outside the classroom.

• Foster Inclusive Classrooms: Implement strategies that support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds across all school settings.

• Build Teaching Confidence: Expand overall expertise and professional practice in EAL support.

This session for primary school staff aims to raise awareness of what is and what is not comprehensible, accessible English Language for learners who use EAL, particularly those who are new to English or in the early acquisition stages.
